Data Platform Product Owner – Johannesburg or Pretoria (Hybrid)
Contract: 6–12 months (project dependent)
Hybrid: 3 days onsite | 2 days remote
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Platform Product Owner to manage and evolve their enterprise Data Platform. You'll define the product vision, roadmap, and backlog while delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing platform capabilities that support analytics, AI, and business innovation.
Requirements:
- Proven Product Owner or Platform Product Manager experience
- Experience managing enterprise Data Platform products
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and/or Snowflake
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud data platforms
- Strong understanding of Data Engineering and Platform Architecture
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Product roadmap development and backlog management
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Financial Services experience advantageous
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the Data Platform vision and roadmap
- Manage and prioritise the product backlog
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Cloud, Architecture, and Analytics teams
- Drive platform enhancements, scalability, and optimization
- Manage releases, capacity planning, and stakeholder engagement
