Data Engineer – Johannesburg or Pretoria (Hybrid)

Contract: 6–12 months (project dependent)
Hybrid: 3 days onsite | 2 days remote

Our client is looking for experienced Data Engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence.

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years' Data Engineering experience
Strong Python and SQL skills
Experience with Apache Spark
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Denodo
Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Data Factory experience preferred
Strong ETL/ELT pipeline development experience
Experience working with Azure Cloud Data Platforms

Key Responsibilities:

Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
Build and optimize enterprise data integrations
Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
Develop data solutions for analytics, AI, and reporting
Collaborate with Data Architects, Product Owners, and Analytics teams
Implement engineering best practices, testing, and automation
